Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.
My list features books that I not only gave a high rating, but would also reread again in a heartbeat!

Ohhh I haven't thought about The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating for years - what a glorious book it was. Thanks to a very hungry snail chomping on my map book, on a camping trip many years ago, I even know what the sound of wild snail eating actually sounds like!!
ReplyDeleteCaleb's Crossing gets mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it too.
It would be cool to hear a wild snail eating in really life... Especially after reading The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating!
DeleteI really like Geraldine Brooks's writing a lot and have read 4 of her novels to date.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!
I haven't read any of the books on your list, but they sure have interesting titles! 😊
ReplyDeleteGreat TTT! 😊

DeleteOoh, new books! I haven't read any of the books on your list, but I'm interested in The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Not sure what the story is about, but I totally agree with the title. lol. :)

DeleteYou always seem to have a nice mix of books, and this list is no exception! Off to check a few of these out. A couple of them I've heard of but most are new to me.

DeleteThat first one definitely has an interesting title!

DeleteI read The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating earlier this year. It was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed reading The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating as well!
DeleteI won't do my list until the end of the year but I loved looking at yours. I have read and enjoyed Caleb's Crossing and The Vegetarian. One of my reading groups will be reading The Second Mrs Hockaday early next year.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to write and post my best reads list closer to the last day of December as well as I am still reading books up until the last day of the year.... But alas, I do like to participate in this book meme, so did it a bit early!
DeleteI hope you enjoy reading The Second Mrs. Hockaday with your book club! I wish I had a book club group to discuss this book with!
Twice! You must have loved it. :-) Fab list.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books on your list but I have been very tempted by the Roanoke Girls. I've seen so many glowing reviews of it.

DeleteThe Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up - someone recommended me this book but I have yet to read, but I did saw a parody of sort of this book which I thought is pretty funny though it kept using the f word.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard any of the other books on your list except 'the vegetarian' which I'm pretty sure I don't want to read.
thanks for stopping by my blog, have a lovely day.
Who can resist a book with the title The Sound of A Wild Snail Eating? :D
ReplyDeleteI need to read Juliet Takes a Breath. It sounds amazing and I've seen so much praise for it. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

DeleteI read Marie Kondo's book last year; although I didn't necessarily agree with everything she said, I thought she had some interesting approaches.
ReplyDeleteI didn't agree with everything she said either, but I liked many of things she did have to say to help me dispose of clutter!

Such an interesting list. The Sound Of A Wild Snail Eating is a great title. :)

DeleteI really want to get my hands on a copy of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up! I don’t often read non-fiction, but when I do, it’s books like this that are right up my street! Great list :)
ReplyDeleteSome interesting titles on this list! I wanted to read The Roanoke Girls so bad but never got around to it this year. I plan on reading it early next year. Great list!

DeleteThanks for reading my blog! I'm in the same boat as you--I haven't read any on your list either, so it looks like I have plenty to add to my TBR! :)
ReplyDeleteI've not read any of these but The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating is an amazing title!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but I really want to read Juliet Takes a Breath!

DeleteI keep hearing about the tidying-up book and I think I am being nudged to read it because my home is in dire need of tidying. I also can't imagine doing it all at once, as you mentioned in your review. Between my daughter and I, there is simply no way that would be possible. There's just too much STUFF.

Deleteohhh...The Roanoke Girls was good! I forgot about that one. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThe Vegetarian has been on my list! Glad you had a great reading year! Thanks for dropping in on my Top Ten list this week.

DeleteThe only books here I've read are The Second Mrs. Hockaday and Caleb's Crossing -- but since we have those two in common, I think I'd better check out your other books as well. :)

DeleteThese lists are dangerous! I can't say that I loved The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up but I think it was a book I really benefitted from. I could probably use a reread to get me back on track. That vertical folding is life changing! The only other book on your list I'm familiar with is The Roanoke Girls which actually ended up being a DNF for me because I just couldn't handle the incest aspect. It was one of those I could recognize how amazing it was but had to accept it wasn't for me. I've been anxiously waiting for the next book from her though. Now I need to go check out the rest of your books!
ReplyDeleteYes, The Roanoke Girls does deal with a dark family secret/incest which was rough to read about... But very well written by the author. Amy Engel's writing is really good and attention grabbing for sure. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!
DeleteThese are all new for me so since I am checking these out my tbr pile might go up hahaha. Love it! Thank you for sharing your list!
ReplyDeleteMy post is a little late but here are my Top Ten
