Yikes, I'm Behind On Writing Reviews!

I've been doing a lot of reading this month, which is fabulous!! But I'm behind on writing reviews of what I've read this month so far.

Currently, I have a total of ten reviews I need to write and post to my blog. However, I seem to be in a review writing slump, which is unusual for me as I tend to write my reviews as soon as I finish reading a book.

Normally, I wouldn't find myself worrying about delaying my review writing for a week or two, especially if I am on vacation. But, when I've read ten different books in the past ten days, I'm concerned that perhaps I may not write the best reviews when the time comes to do so.

Additionally, eight of the ten titles I've recently read weren't that likable, so I'm not feeling that excited about sharing my opinions about them.

Anyone else encounter a review writing slump in the past? How'd you move forward and begin writing and posting reviews again?

  1. Ugh I know exactly what you mean. I think currently I have around 23 books that I still haven't written reviews for but I've read in the past 6 months or so. Personally, I've been trying to sit down and write a review (or at least a rough one) right after I finish the book (literally the next minute). I've found that if I wait, I'm more likely to just not want to start it and then it'll never get written! Also, I've started to not start a new book until I've written a review for the last one. Since my reviews only take me around 25 minutes to write, it's not too bad to do it right away, I just have to start it! Because I have such a backlog, I'm thinking of doing a collection of mini reviews in the next few months instead of rereading all of the books and writing out a full size review. Perhaps you could do that for the reviews you're dreading! Best of luck!

    1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. I think writing a mini review may be helpful in this case, especially with the ones I didn't like reading that much. Who wants to relive bad books?

In the future, maybe I should 'dnf' books I am not enjoying more often instead of finishing them. Life's too short to read bad books, lol!!
