Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

I found it interesting that half of my favorite books this year were nonfiction, while the other half were fiction.
So, which books are your best reads for 2015?
The fiction/non divide is interesting...and just made me realize I have zero non-fiction books on my favorites list this year. I'll have to pick out my favorite non-ficton book of the year in another post.
ReplyDeleteThe only one of these I have heard of is the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I am intrigued, though am still skeptical about whether I need to read a whole book on the subject. Hmm. Does sound like a real game changer for a lot of people those, which makes me all the more curious.
Anyway, happy reading!
My top ten list is here, if you're interested: http://www.bookpunks.com/year-books-best-books-2015/

I was astonished at how much nonfiction I read this year, too!
ReplyDeleteHere are my Top Ten Reads of 2015!
Great list! I haven't heard of any of these but I'm glad you enjoyed them :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
The Story of Sushi and Cat Daddy are two I would like to look at further. The first just because it sounds interesting, and the second one because I like cats- and well, it just looks fun. :)
ReplyDeleteThese all look really interesting!! My TTT http://angelerin.blogspot.com/2015/12/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-ya-novels-i.html?m=0
ReplyDeleteI'm not really familiar with these, but I have heard good things about Big Magic. Thanks for sharing your list!
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved Big Magic, too!
ReplyDelete"His Fair Assassin" series sound so good and the covers are just breathtaking. I would have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting to see how different everyone's TTT lists are. I haven't read any of these yet!

DeleteI haven't read any of these. I am trying to branch out more next year and read more non fiction so I will have to check some of these out. Great list!
ReplyDeleteInteresting list! I haven't read any of those books, but I'm very curious now.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my Top Ten! :) Said to say that the only book I have read on your Top Ten List is Mortal Heart. But Appaloosa Summer sounds pretty good :) I am going to have to add that to my TBR
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard any of these, but I'm glad you enjoyed all of them! :D
ReplyDeleteHere are my Top Ten!
The Story of Sushi sounds like an interesting read! I've also had I Am Livia sitting on my Kindle for awhile. I used to read a lot of historical fiction when I was younger but haven't picked a book up in that genre in some time. Maybe it's time for me to mix up my reading list and finally give that book a try.
ReplyDeleteThese are new ones to me. I definitely liked to read both nonfiction and fiction too. Great list, and thank you for stopping by. :)
ReplyDeleteThe title: the story of sushi makes me hungry. It's definitely one I would check out. Cat Daddy looks interesting. Great list of Fiction/Nonfiction. :)

My Top Ten Tuesday Post
Eek! I haven't read any of these books. I'm glad that you enjoyed them though!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, but I really need to read Robin LaFever's books.
ReplyDeleteI don't recognize any of these books. Funny how some of these lists are basically carbon copies of each other, and some come from another direction entirely with lots of interesting surprises. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure sure I made it through 10 books in 2015, but there's hope for 2016.
ReplyDeleteI tend to avoid most nonfiction, mostly because I feel that people take creative liberties with their "lives," but alas, that probably shouldn't matter anyway.
Thanks for illuminating more titles that I should discover.
I need to hurry up and read Mortal Heart! I can't think why it's slipped off my radar.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, but they do sound interesting!
ReplyDeletei think your comment is interesting about reading a pretty equal amount of fiction and non fiction because i was just thinking the other day how I dont do ENOUGH of this. I nearly always read fiction!
ReplyDeletegreat TTT post!
Dark Triumph was on my list instead of Mortal Heart!
ReplyDeleteDark Triumph was on my list instead of Mortal Heart!
ReplyDeleteWow I've actually only heard of the Robin LaFevers book - I'll have to check the rest of these out!
ReplyDelete(P.s. I love the background of your blog!)
Nice list! I haven't read any of these, the only one I know is Mortal Heart, but very cool that you have a lot of non-fiction! I can't even remember the last time I read a nonfiction, which I should probably remedy!
ReplyDeleteShannon @ It Starts At Midnight
I was hoping to buy or borrow Mortal Heart this month but ran out of time. After Dark Triumph, I am curious to see how this one fares. Glad to hear you loved it. Thanks for stopping by!
