Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
I had a tough time choosing the movie 'FREEBIE' topic for this week's Top Ten Tuesday post. Then it occurred to me that there are several movies I've seen based on books, but I've yet to read the book that the movie is based on!
Below is the list of books I still want to read after watching the movie version.
1. Room by Emma Donoghue
2. The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim
3. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
4. The Lover by Marguerite Duras
5. The Martian by Andy Weir
6. The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje
7. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
8. The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson
9. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson
10. Murder On The Orient Express by Agatha Christie
Have you read any of the above books? If so, which one do you recommend I read first?

Nice! Haven't seen or read these myself.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment!
DeleteFahrenheit 451 was a great book. I hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thank for the tip on Fahrenheit 451!! Happy reading!
DeleteI've only seen the Murder on The Orient Express movie, not read the book, but I don't think I could read the book now that I know who the killer is, murder mysteries I feel I can only really consume in one format because the ending will be spoiled for you for the other one.

I usually find myself not wanting to read a book after seeing a movie. Mainly because it takes longer to read a book than see the movie version of it... But for some reason these books stand out as ones I'd still want to read.
DeleteRoom was amazing. I hope you love it.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Thank you for letting me know that Room is excellent.
DeleteI have read Room (better even than the movie), Fahrenheit 451 (not seen the movie) and The Girl With the...series (saw all the movies, both Swedish and American.)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you in that the book is usually better than the movie.
DeleteI haven't read any of these books, but I was at a writer's conference last month and we analyzed the first paragraphs to The Martian and it looked pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your insight. Happy reading!
DeleteRoom is a great movie adaptation, but I think I was the most disappointed by how it was marketed. I also loved the original Swedish Millennium trilogy.
ReplyDeleteI also loved the original Swedish Millennium trilogy as well.
