Top Ten Tuesday - Books Set in/Take Place During World War II

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I've read and reviewed the following ten books set during World War II. Most of them I loved. Click on the links below to read my reviews!

1. Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay

2. The Taster by V. S. Alexander

3. Winter Men by Jesper Bugge Kold

4. The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

5. The True Story of Hansel and Gretel: A Novel of War and Survival by Louise Murphy

6.Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli

7. Blackout by Simon Scarrow

8. Flygirl by Sherri L. Smith

9. Letters from Skye by Jessica Brockmole

10.Tightrope by Simon Mawer

Have you read of the following books? Which ones did you love?

  1. Oh nice topic! These are new to me ones. I don't read too many historical fiction books myself. Although I do get one occasionally that has fantasy or paranormal themes that I usually enjoy!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. There are so many books set during WWII how did you narrow your list down to just 10? ;D I saw the movie they made of Sarah's Key and what a sad story! Haven't read any of the others, but several are on my TBR list.

    1. It was difficult to narrow down my choices! Sarah's Key was such a wonderful novel... I'd tried reading other novels by the author of Sarah's Key, but didn't like her other novels as much!

  3. Several people have talked about World War II today. I think it’s cool when TTT bloggers do that (even if it is unintentional. :) )

  5. I've read a couple of these! I feel like I could do this topic over and over again. I did enjoy the Jessica Brockmole book which I read when it first came out!

    1. There are so many wonderful books that fit into this category. I can see why you'd be able to do this topic repeatedly.

  6. I grew up with stories about World War II courtesy of my father who served in the American army there. I confess I had more than my fill and I tend to avoid books set in that time and place.

    1. I can see why you would not read stories/novels about this time period.

  7. That is a great idea for this challenge. I have read many books about WWII but none of yours, though Sarah's Key is on my TBR pile.
