Top Ten Tuesday --- Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I Still Need To Watch

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Here's my list of book to movie adaptations that I still need to watch:

The Giver
The Fault in Our Stars
To Kill A Mockingbird
Wild
Winter's Tale
Gone Girl
The Maze Runner
If I Stay
Ender's Game
Twelve Years A Slave

Which book to movie adaptations do you still need to watch?

  2. I really enjoyed Gone Girl. I didn't expect to like it as much :-)

  3. If you've read Gone Girl, you've seen the movie. That was one of the most faithful book-to-movie adaptations I've ever seen. I saw To Kill a Mockingbird so long ago, I need to see that one again.

    Great list!

  6. The Maze Runner was an excellent film adaptation! In fact, now that you mention it, I really wanna watch it haha :) I also have yet to watch If I Stay, but that's probably just as bad a tear jerker as TFIOS, so I recommend tons of tissues! Great list! Here's my Top Ten!

  13. I loved If I Stay (of course I haven't read the book) but I think Ender's Game (movie) was missing something. I was so hooked on that book/series. I broke a personal record in reading speed for that book because I loved Ender's character so much. The movie didn't come close to making me feel that way thou.

  14. Wow - I haven't seen any of these yet! I'm most curious about The Giver. I might also watch If I Stay, although that might tug at my heartstrings a bit much.

  15. I still need to watch If I Stay as well. I think I missed it when it was on Netflix :( I wasn't wowed by the TFIOS movie, but I was definitely in the minority. Hope you like it better than me. Maybe because I knew what was going to happen, IDK, all I know is NO CRYING HAPPENED!! I about died from crying reading the book, so that really shocked me. Great list... thanks for stopping by mine :)

  16. Oow I've seen Winter's Tale, I think it probably would have been better if I'd read the book first as so much happens in it I couldn't keep up! But I did enjoy it. Fault in our stars was really really sad so I haven't had the courage to read the book... and The Maze Runner was ok, it doesn't have half the character bonding that the book has but it was a good adaptation.

I want to see all the others still too!
Happy Reading and thanks for stopping by

  20. I've only seen To Kill A Mockingbird and The Giver, which I really enjoyed. I know a lot of people might suggest skipping it but I say watch it and give it a chance. Only thing the bugged me was that some parts felt like random stock footage they threw in because it fit.

  21. A very good list! :) 'The Fault in Our Stars' adaptation was very faithful to the book and both Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort were perfectly cast! I loved 'The Maze Runner' and 'Ender's Game' movies as well but I haven't actually read the books yet so I can't really comment on how good they were as adaptations.

  22. The Fault In Our Stars was wonderful and I cried like a baby! I also need to see The Giver, but I am very nervous to watch it, since I hated to the ending in the book!

  25. The Fault in Our Stars was good - I sobbed a lot. Possibly not quite as good as the book but still a really wonderful adaptation.

  27. Gone Girl, The Maze Runner and If I Stay were all SOOO GOOD! The Giver was also pretty well-done, I'm not sure how I feel about aging the characters and changing quite a few things. I wasn't a huge fan of TFiOS, unfortunately, but it wasn't that bad.

  28. Yes for 'Gone Girl'! Still need to read the book as well... So many people were so excited about it, quite curious to see what all the fuss was about! Thanks for visiting my TTT this week! :)
