Top Ten Tuesday - New to Me Authors I Discovered in 2025!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Last year, I had the wonderful opportunity to read several books by new to me authors. Below are the top ten authors whom I enjoyed reading books written by the most in 2025.

1. Samantha Hunt

2. Erle Stanley Gardner

3. Ekwaeke Emezi

4. R. J. Palacio

5. Charlotte McConaghy

6. Hilary Green

7. Patti Callahan

8. Juliet Blackwell

9. Marie Benedict

10. Oyinkan Braithwaite

Which authors topped your list of new to you authors in 2025?

  5. Great list! I need to read more of Akwaeke Emezi's work -- I have a couple on my shelves, but I haven't got to it yet. So many books, so little time, etc.

  8. I enjoy Erle Stanley Gardner. I have read three or four by him and one I didn't enjoy but the others I did. I am looking forward to reading more about him this year.

    1. I'd eventually like to read the entire Perry Mason series by Erle Stanley Gardner. There are 57 books in the series, so this seems like a daunting task.

  9. I've only read one book by R. J. Palacio (Wonder), but I loved it. I'm currently reading Charlotte McConaghy's Wild Dark Shore (on audio) and am loving the story. Great narration, too. I've only read one by Marie Benedict (The Other Einstein) and need to look for more by her. I read a lot of great new-to-me authors last year. My post is here.
