Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Below are ten of my favorite flowers... Granted I have many more flowers I love and adore, but these are a few of my personal favorites.
1. Dahlia
Dahlias come in a wide variety of colors. I like many of the colors. It's the shape and look of this flower I enjoy the most.
2. Rhododendrons
I love the color variations for rhododendrons too... Plus, the fact that they grow on trees/shrubs, which grow very large.
3. Ranunculos
The variety of colors and the interesting texture of ranunculos are what make it a winner!!
4. Orchid
I simply adore all orchids, but Oncidium Sharry Baby orchid really stands out as it smells like chocolate!!
5. Peony
Again, I love all the color variations and the texture for peonies.
6. Lotus
I love the symbolism of the lotus - purity, rebirth, strength, and spiritual enlightenment.
7. Camellia
I love the various colors of camellia flowers.
8. Canna & Calla Lillies
I have adored the look of both canna and calla lilies for decades. They are such beautiful flowers. Both types of lilies come in a wide variety of colors.
9 . Magnolia
The magnolia flower is another beautiful flower, which symbolizes dignity, beauty, nobility, and strength.
10. Ylang ylang
OOh nice topic choice! I honestly just love flowers! I wouldn't know which types to pick because I find all of them pretty! These are definitely some new to me ones but some sound familiar too! All are gorgeous!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment!! Have a great day!!
DeleteI love flowers, but I can only identity some of them by looking at them. These are all gorgeous.

DeleteWonderful post! There is something so perfect about a dahlia blossom. That is a HUGE rhoddie! We have them all over our neighborhood and coast, and a few in our yard. Ahh, and rununculos are also perfection. I've had a few orchids over the years, but they never seem to survive my black thumb. Peonies remind me of living in Nebraska. There are peony farms in the valley here in Oregon, but we tend to get them at Trader Joe's when we go into Salem. My mom has a couple of camelia bushes in the front yard and it's always exciting to see the first blooms. I guess I would add siberian iris and crocosmia to the list. And, of course, roses and gardenias.
ReplyDeleteSeems like you enjoy flowers as much as I do!! How fun it would be to visit a peony farm!! I remember visiting Sequim, Washington (aka the lavender capital of North America) and visiting the Purple Haze Lavender Farm! It was pure heaven smelling fresh lavender growing in the fields.
DeleteI agree! I'd love to visit a peony farm. I've gone to a tulip farm once, but it was toward the end of the season. You mentioned Sequim, which is one of our favorite places in the PNW. We have parked our RV at Purple Haze twice back when they were a part of Harvest Hosts for rvers. It was so nice to wake up in the stillness of the morning, smelling the lavender and watching the quail run up and down the rows of plants!
DeleteWow, what great memories to have of visiting Sequim and staying at Purple Haze in your RV!! I'd love to see the quail run up and down the rows of lavender. My husband and I keep saying we want to return to Sequim. I'm hoping we will one day!
DeleteI feel like I've always taken magnolias and azaleas for granted, because they were everywhere when I was growing up in the south. But now that I live in the north, I kind of miss them.

We see magnolias occasionally where I live... But azaleas and rhododendrons grow in abundance far north of us.
DeleteFoxgloves are one of my favourites. I love watching bumblebees disappear up into the flowers.

Yes, it is fun seeing bumblebees disappear inside foglove!
DeleteI love peonies and dahlias, too! I also love snapdragons and Sweet Williams. And lilacs for the way they smell. I don't think I've ever seen a ranunculous; what a crazy, cool flower. Fun idea for this week's TTT. :D
ReplyDeleteI do love lilacs too! The smell and color of them are beautiful! I forget what Sweet Wiiliams looks like.
DeleteAs a gardener, I can't really say I have a favorite flower. Whatever is in bloom at the moment tends to be my favorite of the day.
ReplyDeleteProbably a wise decision not to have a favorite flower. There are so many beautiful ones!!
DeleteOoooh, absolutely pretty flowers. Are these all yours? I do love ranunculas because they are a small version of my favourite flower: the peony. And I also adore hydrangeas. Dahlias remind me of my dad who would plant them every spring and take them out again in autumn, otherwise they would freeze in our temperatures. Probably not necessary anymore since we don't have real winters any longer.
ReplyDeleteNo, I live in a condo with now room to grow flowers or a garden. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!!
