My husband and I visited San Rafael, California for a few hours on Friday, April 25, 2025. Our primary purpose was to visit the Mission San Rafael Arcangel, which I believe is the smallest of the 21 California Missions.

After visiting, Mission San Rafael Arcangel, we stopped by The Pink Owl coffee house for hot beverages and a pastries. The Pink Owl has four locations. We visited The Pink Owl location on 4th Street, which is a block away from the Mission San Rafael Arcangel. The Pink Owl is a very cute place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy ones food and beverage. I thought my ube flavored mocha with almond milk was okay and the large cookie was very dry and tasteless. My husband faired better with his Americano and pastry. After our treat, we found four Little Free Libraries in a nearby neighborhood before heading over for a late lunch at Shake Shack in Larkspur, California. It was my first time eating at Shake Shack as we do not have one near where we live.

It's fun to see how unique they all are. Love it. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lark!! I am addicted to finding LFLs, especially new to me LFLs in areas I visit. I enjoy sharing my LFL finds with my blog readers too. I do enjoy how different each LFL looks and what each LFL holds inside of it.
DeleteI enjoy discovering all those FLLs with you. And the rest of your tours. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you enjoy my LFL posts. I enjoy finding them especially when I am on vacation or day trips.
DeleteI can imagine. We have book cupboards but seldom LFLs.
DeleteMarianne, have you found many 'book cupboards'?
DeleteEvery town has at least one. Our little town here has at least three, so yes, I have found many, but they are not all that great. Some have a good selection, others you can see that nobody took care of them for years.
DeleteI've been seeking out LFLs since I first learned about them back in 2012. Back then, there weren't many of them around. In the last 13 years, there has been explosion of them in heavily populated areas. Yes, many of them have a decent selection of books, while some have little to no books available. It all depends.
DeleteIt's alright if they have only a few books but if there is a huge shelf, or often two, and the books are all old and dirty, and then you look at them and there isn't a single one worth reading, it's not fun.
DeleteIck, dirty books!
DeleteI know!!!
