Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
I had to scramble for this week's Top Ten Tuesday post. I read books and love certain quotes from the books that resonate strongly with me and sometimes from books that aren't that meaningful to me.
However, I rarely keep track of my favorite quotes, why they are meaningful to me, and which ones are my favorites. Occasionally, I will share favorite quotes in my blog review of a book, but I do not do that all that frequently... So, I did my best and added quotes that I could find easily and simply selected the first ten quotes I could find that I liked.

1. "There's nothing cheap or insulting to your intelligence in following what's true, but you have to stay with it no matter where it takes you. You can't be swayed by ambition or fear. The test of faith is not whether you believe there is a spiritual plane; it's whether you'll live by that knowledge once you've caught a glimpse of it." from The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill by Mark Bittner.
2. "Each of us has a true nature, the real laws of our being, and that inner nature will always receive what is appropriate to it as long as we're honest with ourselves." from The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill by Mark Bittner.
3. "One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eyes." from The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery
4. "Memory is a vast wound." from Spilt Milk by Chico Buarque
5. "[T]hat which we manifest is before us; we are the creators of our own destiny. Be it through intention or ignorance, our successes and our failures have been brought on by none other than ourselves." from The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
6. "The true hero is flawed. The true test of a champion is not whether he can triumph, but whether he can overcome obstacles - preferably of his own making - in order to triumph." from The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
7. "Manuscripts Don't Burn." from The Master & Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
9. "Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." from Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
10. "Why, is it such a bad thing to die?" from The Vegetarian by Han Kang
