Nosebleed by Ged Maybury

I recently had the honor of reading Nosebleed by Ged Maybury
'Nosebleed' is the first novel I've read by Mr. Maybury and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this very engaging and well told children's science fiction novel!!

'Nosebleed' is filled with some pretty humorous scenes that had me laughing out loud. The perks of 'Nosebleed' are many. In addition to the well developed storyline, I also enjoyed the characters in 'Nosebleed', especially Hamish, the lead character. The dialogue between characters is also fabulous and entertaining.

Ged Maybury's writing is so brilliantly delievered, that I felt like I had the perfect bird's eye view to what was taking place in 'Nosebleed' --- As I could envision each scene vividly as the story unfolded.

Book Description of 'Nosebleed' from the Back Cover:
Hamish Zupanek picks his nose a lot---but that's because he thinks he's an AAV (Alien Abduction Victim). How else should he explain his regular nosebleeds, his dad's dandruff, and his friend's rambling about Selective Chicken Blindness? Aided by The Complete Encyclopedia of Paranormal Diseases and a 'friend' he meets on the Internet, Hamish breaks the alien nose-picking code and explores the local UFO landing pad. But then his Internet buddy wants to visit him at home. For real. In the flesh. And he has news for Hamish that will send him out of this world!
I actually learned about 'Nosebleed' from another book blogger (Mozette), who knows Ged Maybury personally. Mozette had written and posted a review of 'Nosebleed' on her blog, My Reading List.

Thank you, Mozette, for posting a review of Ged Maybury's novel, 'Nosebleed', on your blog! Without your review, I may never have discovered Mr. Maybury's writing. I look forward to reading more of his novels.

I'd expressed an interest in reading 'Nosebleed', so Mozette forwarded my email address to Ged Maybury. After a few email exchanges with Mr. Maybury, I was thrilled to receive an autographed copy of 'Nosebleed' from him. Lucky me!! I love having books autographed by the author. 'Nosebleed' is another wonderful edition to my personal collection that I will continue to cherish in the years to come.

Until my next post, happy reading!

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed reading my review of 'Nosebleed'. I'm happy to have included you in my post, as I wouldn't have learned about 'Nosebleed' otherwise.

I also emailed Ged with a link to my review of 'Nosebleed' as well. He promptly replied to my email asking if he could link my review to Facebook! Pretty cool!

  2. He's such a cool person... and I just thought to drop in a photo or two of him at the Logan Arts Festival in April where I helped launch 'Nosebleed'... here's the photos of us hanging out at the Kingston Butter Factory

  3. Hi. A long-range catch-up from a whole 10 years ago! Gasp! Horrors! Grey-hairs!
Just a quick mention that I put a whole new pile of books onto the internet (all digital; sorry!) - like in 2019!! Heres a starter-link where you can dive into reviews and/or previews. Rakuten-Kobo does an excellent layout.
