Check Out the Psychology Behind Reading Several Books at Once!

I usually read several books at a time. I fall into categories one and two. What about you? Do you read multiple books at once? If so, which category do you fall into?

  1. I usually have a few books going at once. One on audio, one to read at night, one nonfiction that I read slowly over the course of several months, and a classic that's typically long (currently that's The Winds of War by Herman Wouk) that I read a chapter or two a day. I just watched the video, but can't remember which category I fall into! Lol!

    1. Cool, Les, thank you for the sharing your reading habits.

  2. Obviously I'm very boring because I am a one-book-at-a-time reader. Rarely I might read a fiction and a nonfiction book at the same time.

    1. You're never boring, Dorothy!! I do miss reading your delightful book reviews.

  3. I always read between four and five books at a time. I make sure they are not all on the same subject but other than that, I just grab whatever I just fancy most.

    1. Sounds like we have very similar reading habits, Marianne.

    2. I think I've said it before. Twins separated at birth. ;)

    3. So true!! By the way, I am currently doing a buddy read with another JCO fan living in Britain. The two of us are reading Daddy Love by JCO together. We just started yesterday and we are currently 5 chapters in. Have you read Daddy Love?

    4. No, I haven't. But JCO is one of my all time favourite authors. Do you think I could still join you if I ordered it now?

    5. Sure, why not join in and read Daddy Love by JCO. I'd love to hear your thoughts. This book is on the shorter side for JCO at 240 pages from what I recall. There are a total of 25 chapters in Daddy Love. We're reading 5 chapters at a time and then stopping to check in with each other about what we've read. So far, the chapters have been fairly short.... I haven't started chapters 6-10 yet and may not start reading them until tomorrow as I have a busy day ahead. So, you have time to catch up.

I've received emails from you in the past, so maybe the best way to share our thoughts about what we read can be shared via email. Will this work with you?

    6. I have ordered Daddy Love but it won't arrive before the 17th, but I hope to catch up with you soon, especially if it is not that long.
Yes, I still have your address and sent you a message with a link to my flower pictures in December. I think you mentioned somewhere that you received it. If you didn't, let me know. Otherwise, I'll use that same address again.

    7. Ye, same email address! I finished Daddy Love by JCO on Friday and wrote and published my review of it all ready. The writing is excellent as per usual, but you are in for a wild ride with Daddy Love. I think it is darkest/most disturbing read by JCO I've read to day. Not for the faint of heart!! It's a short read at roughly 240 pages.

    8. Great. I will not read it now because I want to give my comments as if I hadn't heard what you think. But I will start reading as soon as I have the book.

    9. Perfect, Marianne! Looking forward to reading your thoughts.
