First Book of the Year 2017!

This is my third year participating in the First Book of the Year hosted by Shelia at Book Journey. Join us in announcing which book you've started reading on the first day of 2017!

Here's my book:

I started reading The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey this evening. This is a book I wanted and received for Christmas in 2016!! I am looking forward to reading this book.

See the following YouTube video about The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey.

Which book are you reading to start off the new year??

  1. Intriguing title. I wonder...what sound does a snail make when eating? lol

I am so glad that you got a book that you've been wanting. It's a great way to start off the year!

Btw, I love how curly your hair is!

    1. Yes, indeed a very intriguing book title. It's book titles like 'The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating' that makes one want to know more about the book. I mean seriously, who really stops to think about what kind of sound a wild snail makes???

Thanks for the compliment on my curly hair. Lol, I use to hate my hair in high school as I always wanted naturally straight hair that didn't frizz up in humid weather. Somewhere along the way, I learned to love my naturally curly waves and learned to work with it.... This evening, I just let it naturally air dry while I started reading my book.

    2. :O
I see you added a video! Thanks!

I completely understand the love/hate relationship with our hair. We always want the opposite of what we have. I have wavy, puffy, and frizzy hair. I hated it back in high school. Now I love it! It's not as puffy anymore since my hair is longer and the weight of it holds it down, but I do let it air dry and get curly on its own. It's very rare when I curl it or flat iron it. I let it do its thing. ;)

    3. Yes, I discovered the video after I made this post and thought it would be a addition to the post.

I've noticed that my hair is not as puffy when it is longer too.

  2. My first books of the year were all short books to kickstart the year, starting with Justin Sloan's Teddy Bears and the Christmas Pirates, which was a fun read about heroic teddy bears!

  3. Ooo this book definitely sounds interesting and different! I love books with creative titles :)

I'm starting off my year with an Agatha Christie marathon. I just finished Curtain and Cat Among the Pigeons and I haven't decided which I'm going to read next! May Death on the Nile...?

    1. I love reading Agatha Christie novels!! A marathon reading of her novels would be awesome. Have you read Curtain or And Then There Were None yet?
