Food Fortunes Card Deck by Josh Lafayette

Fun Novelty Tarot/Divination Deck!!

Food Fortunes Card Deck by Josh Lafayette is a very unique divination deck/oracle deck/tarot deck... I'd call it a novelty, divination deck for the foodie lover that can also be used as a tarot deck.

The Food Fortunes Card Deck is a very creative and fun deck to play with. This deck comes in a tuck box with a booklet that gives an introductions, a few different card spreads, and a key to the cards themselves. There are 78 cards in this deck, which are divided into the major arcana and minor arcana just like in traditional tarot decks. However, this is where the similarities seems to end as this deck is entirely about food! The major arcana consists of 22 cards and features different foods, so don't expect to find traditional cards and images for the major arcana. The minor arcana consists of the remaining 56 cards with four suits - The Mains, The Sides, Sweets, and Drinks.

I love the artwork for the Food Fortunes Card Deck and it should be noted that Josh Lafayette illustrated this food themed deck!! The cards for the Food Fortunes Card Deck are matte, not glossy, and are easy to shuffle. The card stock is sturdy and the size for this deck is the typical size found for a standard tarot deck.

I love this card deck for its uniqueness!! I am glad that I have added it to my collection of card decks... But in all honesty, I probably won't use it on a regular basis!

Below is a summary for Food Fortunes Card Deck by Josh Lafayette from Amazon:
  • FOOD THEMED ORACLE CARDS: This hilarious play on oracle or classic tarot cards presents a unique play on how food and fortunes collide.
  • 78 UNIQUE CARDS: Each card features a classic foodie favorite including bacon, pizza, and more!
  • GREAT GIFT FOR FOODIES: The foodie in your life will get a kick out of the "readings" they get from their favorite dishes.
  • FOOD IS IN YOUR FUTURE: Each set of cards comes with a set of instructions on how to read each card's meaning.
  • GREAT FOR PARTIES: Entertain your friends at parties by reading their food fortunes for late night bites.

Below is a YouTube video made by Becoming Temperance, which offers an excellent review and walk through of the Food Fortunes Card Deck. This video was what made my purchase decision for Josh Lafayette's Food Fortunes Card Deck an easy one. So, check out the video to see how this deck looks!

I am giving Food Fortunes Card Deck by Josh Lafayette a rating of 5 stars out of 5 stars.

Until my next post happy reading!!!

Karma Cards by Monte Farber

I am enjoying the Karma Cards by Monte FarberKarma Cards by Monte Farber includes 36 planet, sign, and house cards plus a 96 page guidebook.

I love the book! It's short and to the point on how use the karma card deck... Plus, gives further details about astrology in general for those that want to know more about the twelve astrological signs, the planets, and various houses associated with astrology.

As far as the karma cards go, they are a nice size, rectangular-shaped card printed on nice card stock. There are 12 each of the planet, sign, and house cards.

The karma cards are mainly used to ask the outcome of a particular situation or the action one needs to take in a given situation depending on what the querant wants to know. Additionally, one can obtain the answer to what action one can take in a situation and its outcome.

Each karma card contains the answers to the outcome and/or action steps one should take written on the face of each card, which I like immensely... This way I don't have to look up the answers in the book that comes with this card deck or memorize the answers for each card.

Below is a summary for Karma Cards by Monte Farber from Barnes & Noble:
Find out what your future holds with this brand-new edition of the hugely popular Karma Cards oracle deck!Want to know about your love life? Career prospects? Finances? The answer to every question lies in these amazing cards, created by astrologer Monte Farber and already embraced by hundreds of thousands of seekers. How do they work? Shuffle the Karma Cards; lay a Planet, Sign, and House card side by side; and read across the red or blue panels. Every response features three levels of information: spiritual, mental, and physical. They can guide you through everyday decision-making, and even more important, help you contact and communicate wisely with your “Higher Self”—that part of our being that actually chooses to undergo certain experiences in order to explore our full potential. Accompanying the 36 full-color cards is a 96-page instruction book with advice on centering yourself, visualizing the situation that concerns you, phrasing your query, and more.
I'm giving Karma Cards by Monte Farber a rating of 5 stars out of 5 stars.

Until my next post, happy reading!!

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards by Rae Hepburn

I enjoy drinking tea... Organic, jasmine green tea is pretty much my all time favorite flavor of tea and sweetened with liquid stevia. However, I'll drink pretty much any flavor of tea as long as it's organic. These days, I am drinking organic chamomile tea as I have difficulty falling and staying asleep at nights... So no caffeine for me.

Additionally, I pretty much love all things tea related. Even the topic of reading tea leaves (aka tasseography) is an intriguing topic to me.

A few years ago, I came across Tea Leaf Fortune Cards by Rae Hepburn though Amazon's website and decided to purchase this set, which includes the following items:
* A 98-page, illustrated guidebook that gives a brief history of tea and tea leaf reading, the development of the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards, a brief history of traditional tea leaf reading methods, how to divine your fortune using the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards, and a glossary filled with the meanings of each card in the deck.
* Drawstring pouch for mixing the cards.
* 200 round cards, 3.25" in diameter: 182 symbol cards, 12 month cards, and 6 astral house cards.
* Sturdy box to contain the book, cards, and mixing pouch.
I thought the 98-page, illustrated guidebook was direct and to the point. I liked the layout of the illustrated book and how it was organized. The information provided by Rae Hepburn on how to divine your fortune using the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards was direct and straight forward/uncomplicated.

I like the size and shape of the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards themselves, but I feel like the card stock used for these cards are a bit on the flimsy side. I want these types of cards to be as thick and sturdy as a deck of playing cards. Especially if a person is going to be using the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards for frequent readings for themselves and/or others. I also think the artwork for the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards is not that pretty.

The mixing pouch (for the cards) is small, gauzy, and a very pretty golden-yellow color... But the bag looks delicate and I am concerned it won't hold up over time for its intended use... especially if the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards are used frequently for readings.

I haven't used the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards for a reading yet. So, I am unable to comment on that aspect at this time. I do not think that I'll use these cards that often. But I will do a personal reading for myself just for sure fun at some point in the future. I'm not sure how I really feel about the accuracy of things like tarot card readings, oracle card readings, etc. in predicting/foreseeing the future.

Below is a short video of the author, Rae Hepburn, talking about the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards. She also gives a quick reading as well.

I am giving Tea Leaf Fortune Cards by Rae Hepburn a rating of 4 stars out of 5 stars.

Until my next post, happy reading!
