Yes, I'm participating in the 2015 Audiobook Challenge!! This is my second year participating in the Audiobook Challenge. I had so much fun participating in this challenge last year and have become addicted to listening to audiobooks. Last year, I listened to a total of 48 books. I ended up reaching the "My Precious" level in the 2014 Audiobook Challenge. This year, I am hoping to reach "Marathoner" level and listen to 50+ audiobooks.
Before giving my first audiobook update of 2015, I'd like to thank both Jennifer at The Book Nympho & Lupe at Hot Listens for hosting the 2015 Audiobook Challenge. You both have made the audiobook challenge a fun, enjoyable annual event! So, cheers to listening to audiobooks!!
So, now for my audiobook update. I'm off to a slow start this year in terms of listening to audiobooks... I've started/finished a total of 30 books this year, but only 4 of the 30 books have been audiobooks. I've been in an audiobook listening slump and have chosen to read more books in the eBook format than read physical books or listen to audiobooks.
So, what have I listened to so far this year?
1. Garden of Beasts by Jeffrey Deaver
2. Hour Game by David Baldacci
3. Rain Gods by James Lee Burke
4. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Click on above link to read my reviews of each audiobook listed above.
I'm still hoping to reach the "Marathoner" by the end of 2015 as I still have several audiobooks on compact disc, MP3 and of course, Audible downloads as well.
Do you love listening to audiobooks??? There's still time to participate in the 2015 Audiobook Challenge... Simply click on the link to learn more about 2015 Audiobook Challenge and sign up!
So, which audiobooks have you listened to this year?
This year I've listened to 7 audio books so far (17% of my reading). I read Imago by Octavia Buttler, The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd, Lock In by John Scalzi, Is Everyone Hanging out without me by Mindy Kalling, Yes, Please by Amy Poehler, The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison and Off to be the Wizard by Scott Meyer
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment... I especially enjoyed reading which audiobooks you've listened to this year. I want to read or listen to The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd (I loved reading her novel The Mermaid Chair a few years ago) and also Is Everyone Hanging out without me by Mindy Kalling
DeleteYes, I'm with you, I'm hoping quarter 2 will be more productive for my audiobook listening: ) My e-book addiction has definitely been rivaling my audiobook addiction, and e-books are winning at the present :) There's still plenty of time of course, and I find that at times I go through listening binges (especially when I find a good series that has a great narrator).

DeleteGood luck with your listening goals next quarter!!
Nothing wrong with that!! It's all about enjoying books anyway we can. I on the other hand have only read 1 book, a short book..lol I'm definitely a full blown audio addict. I used to read a bit more, but now, I read a review and there's the audio! My wallet keeps taking a beating tho..lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!! I am so glad that you're hosting this event along with Jennifer. I enjoy seeing what everyone else is listening to and end up adding more audiobooks to my collection... I know what you mean about one's wallet taking a beating.... Maybe I need to get a library card, lol??
DeleteGood start! I love seeing all these audio book lovers' lists.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!!
DeleteYou're in a good start and I know that you will reach your goal!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support!!! I'm looking forward to reaching my goals by the end of the year!
DeleteMy husband got me hooked on audio books a few years ago. It helps my commute time pass by quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteI've become quite addicted to listening to them myself. They are a great way to pass the time while commuting or other chores, etc.
DeleteI have found myself being very picky with narrators, so I keep checking out reviews from other audio lovers to make sure they appreciated the narration as much as the story.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll be able to catch up, Lisa. Good luck!

I am picky about narrators too as a narrator can make or break my listening experience. I have no problem with not listening to an audiobook if the narration is atrocious and audio production quality is poor.
DeleteHello Captivated Reader-- You've read some good mysteries and a classic on audio. I hope you get past your slump. Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving me a comment!! Happy listening!
DeleteAt least you are getting your reading in regardless. Hope you meet your goal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment!! Since making my 1st update, I've listened to three audiobooks. I'm currently listening to another audiobook that is well read, but am not enjoying the storyline, so may not end up finishing it.
