15 Books Set to Become Movies in 2014

I cam across an article in The Christian Science Monitor titled 15 books set to become movies in 2014 by Bruna Labato.

The movies listed  in the above mentioned article are as follows:

1. Winter’s Tale by Mark Helprin
2. A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby
3. Divergent by Veronica Roth
4. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
5. The Giver by Lois Lowry
6. The Hundred-Foot Journey by Richard C. Morais
7. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
8. This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper
9. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
10. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
11. The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
12. Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed
13. Before I Go to Sleep by S. J. Watson
14. Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith
15. Serena by Ron Rash

Are you eager to see any of the above mentioned movies when they are released later this year??

I'm most interested in seeing the movie version of The Giver by Lois Lowry, as I loved reading this novel a couple of years ago. Plus, I've heard that both Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep are starring in the movie version of The Giver and they are both terrific actors.

  1. I need to read Gone Girl soon... like right now. I have avoided spoilers thus far but as soon as this movie hits I think it will be even harder!!

    1. I have Gone Girl on my reading wishlist and have managed to avoid the spoilers too... I soooo many books in my ginormous tbr pile, that I'm not even sure when I'll get around to reading Gone Girl.

  2. My cousins and I are super excited about The Fault in Our Stars. Of course Divergent, The Giver, and Mockingjay are on our list as well. We are ALL readers and try to see these together if we can. Gone Girl is another one I wouldn't mind seeing, but need to read the book first as well. I tried to read Wild, but just couldn't connect with the narrator.

    1. That's so cool that you are all readers and try to see the movies together. Most of my family members (or at least the ones who live near me at any rate) and closest friends aren't big readers! However, we do all like seeing movies together. It's just fun discussing with other readers how the movie version compares with the book it is based upon.

    1. Waiting for movie sequels is rough going, especially when it is a good series!! Hang in there.
