My blog is about the books I'm reading, the independent bookstores I visit, the author and book events I attend, and any bookish related things I come across in the months and years to come!

Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day!!
How will you be celebrating Independent Bookstore Day today? Do you have a favorite independent bookstore you enjoy visiting? Will you be buying books from an independent bookstore?
We have some wonderful independent bookstores in Houston. Two of my favorites are Blue Willow and Murder by the Book. Now that I read exclusively on Kindle I don't have as much occasion to brave the traffic to visit them but I do still enjoy my occasional forays there.
I haven't visited Murder by the Book in person, but I attended many of their virtual author events during the pandemic... along with buying books from them online. Fabulous bookstore!!
Our local bookstore became non-independent last year. It is not the same anymore but there is hardly any in the area. Still, I go to one whenever I find one.
I know. Ours was taken over when the owner was looking for a follower because she had to retire. However, in the neighbour town, the same chain took over one for the same reason and they have given it up there now and it has reverted to independent. So, there is hope.
I visit mine about 3 times a year. Next trip will be in August... But I do tend to buy 10-15 books when I'm there.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you support your indie bookstores by buying so many books at one time.
