Unabridged Audio Version!! |
Listening length for I Am Malala is 9 hours, 55 minutes.
I'm not sure what I can say about this audiobook that hasn't already been said or written. I'll start by saying that I enjoyed listening to the audio version of I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai. I thought that Archie Panjab was a very good narrator for this book.
Malala, herself, is such an inspiration. She's smart and articulate. I love that she promotes education for girls. And, of course, Malala being the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize is beyond amazing. I look forward seeing what the future holds for Malala!
I enjoyed hearing Malala's life's story as well as the history of Pakistan as I really don't know much about Pakistan's history... In fact, I was kind of overwhelmed by the amount of information I learned about Pakistan as a country in I Am Malala.
After reading I Am Malala, I feel very grateful for all the freedom I have as a woman living here in the USA and the access I've had to educational opportunities that people elsewhere do not have.
Below is an interview of Malala on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
I am giving I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai a rating of 4 stars out of 5 stars.
Until my next post, happy reading!
I'm so glad you liked it! This was actually a beach read for me (I know, I have weird preferences!) and I finished it in one sitting. What I liked most about reading this book was that I actually had the freedom to read said book. We take so many things for granted which we only have because we were born in the right place at the right time. It's certainly informative!

Wow, you read I Am Malala in one sitting?! I'm impressed! I finished it in 3-4 days... Lots of good information filled I Am Malala and it took me chunks of time to digest what I was reading... Especially about Pakistan history.
DeleteOh man! You are so right, Laura! "the freedom to read said book"
DeleteThat never came to mind when I listened to the audio of this book. We definitely take things for granted.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the book. Malala is such an inspiration, not only to me, but to ALL females! I can't begin to imagine the types of atrocities that these innocent people, especially women, have to go through in the Middle East. Malala's story was eye opening and I especially adored the love and relationship she had with her father.
ReplyDeleteYes, I also love the relationship that Malala has with her father and I applaud him for raising such a smart, intelligent daughter and wanting her to have an education. They have an incredible relationship.
DeleteThanks for the link, Lisa. You are right, we are not even aware of all the freedom we have in our countries.
ReplyDeleteAs I said in my review, we should all support her and all the other women in this world who are denied an education. I think by writing about them, we contribute in our own little ways.
I look forward to reading your review.
