I am not even sure what a cozy/atmospheric read is supposed to look like... Are we supposed to pick one genre or the other? Or try to find books that fit both genres? I'm going to stick to atmospheric reads for this week's Top Ten Tuesday post.
1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
2. Tangerine by Christine Mangan
3. The Sister by Poppy Adams
4. The Seas by Samantha Hunt
5. Soon by Lois Murphy
6. The Sacrifice by Rin Chupeco
7. A Kiss Before Dying by Ira Levin
8. A Stir of Echoes by Richard Matheson
9. Euphoria by Lily King
10. Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven

Have you read of the books from my Top Ten Tuesday post this week? Do you have any atmospheric books to recommend?

The Night Circus is outstanding! I listened to the audiobook and loved it. There are so many atmospheric books. Off the top of my head, I'd say The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton, The Lost Man by Jane Harper, and These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant are three books that I've read that fit this category.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed The Night Circus too. I haven't read the other books you've mentioned. I will lok into them. Thank you for sharing.
DeleteOOh nice picks! These sound like new to me ones but one or two sound familiar.

DeleteThe Night Circus is one of my favs. :D
ReplyDeleteIt seems this novel is a hit with most people. In fact, I don't think I've heard a single bad word about The Night Circus.
DeleteI have read & liked Tangerine and Euphoria. I agree with Les above that The Light Pirate is a good atmospheric one ... as well as These Silent Woods. I would also offer Shirley Jackson's We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Ominous feeling. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI have Shirley Jackson's 'We Have Always Lived in the Castle' in my 'to be read' pile. Maybe I should be placing it higher in my stack.
