Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Top Ten Tuesday was originally created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
It's always a bummer to read books by authors that are not very captivating. The following books didn't hit the mark for me this year.
1. Riven Rock by T. C. Boyle
2. Earthbound by Richard Matheson
3. The Encantadas by Herman Melville
4. Jack Ruby: The Many Faces of Oswald's Assassin by Danny Fingeroth
5. Pride and Prejudice Untold Trilogy by P. O. Dixon
6. The Coffee Killer by A. J. Shaw
7. The Horoscope Writer by Ash Bishop
8. Savannah Sleuth by Alan Chaput
9. She Had Glass Eyes by C.S. Schiavone
10. We Had to Remove This Post by Hanna Bervoets
I've added links to my reviews for nine of the books listed above.

Slightly interested in that Jack Ruby book. The most I know about him or Oswald comes from 11/22/63, which is of course fiction and has to be taken with a bag of salt.
ReplyDeleteI read (or rather listened to) and reviewed The Oswalds: An Untold Account of Marina and Lee by Paul R. Gregory earlier this year. It is a work of nonfiction and excellent. The author knew the Oswalds, so he's able to give some great insights regarding the Oswalds. See my review, if interested: https://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2025/03/the-oswalds-untold-account-of-marina.html
DeleteI have not heard of these books or authors. Have a good week. Here is my TTT.https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2025/12/02/top-ten-tuesday-12/comment-page-1/#comment-1118
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment.
DeleteIt’s always a shame when a book doesn’t hit the spot.
ReplyDeleteTrue enough.
DeleteAlways disappointing when books don't live up to expectations.
ReplyDeleteTrue that!
DeleteI'm sorry these books did not work for you. I (mostly) do not finish the books I do not like. That's sad because then my true opinion of some books is never told.
ReplyDeleteI'm frequently torn between not finishing a book I am not enjoying and continuing to read it to the end. Quite a few factors play into whether I continue reading a book or setting it aside.
