I use to annotate my textbooks a lot back in college to help me study new material and remember key concepts.
However, I rarely annotate books I read today. If I do annotate any books I read, it's usually some sort of nonfiction book. For instance, I may annotate a diet book or other health related book, self-help books, a cookbook, or perhaps, even a language learning book, etc.
The above, short video is one of many videos on annotating books.
Let me know in the comments section below if you annotate your books while reading them.
I sometimes underline or star a favorite quote in a book...but since I mostly read library ooks these days I don't really annotate them. (Don't want the fines. ;D )
ReplyDeleteYes, it's understandable why you do not annotate library books.
DeleteOften, when I've finished reading a book, it can appear untouched.... as if it had never been read.....
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are super gentle with your books!
DeleteI cut little post-it notes and use those to mark parts I want to remember and then put a larger one in the back with the page numbers on it. I hate writing in books.
ReplyDeleteI'm generally not a fan of writing in books either! it does ruin the aesthetic, doesn't it? Textbooks during college have been the exception to this for me as it provided a way to enhance studying. I've rarely done with other books mention above. I do like the highlight feature in my Kindle app though!!
DeleteWell, I don't read e-books but I totally would use that feature if I did. I just hate ruining good books with my writing. And I also treat books like a treasure and taught my boys accordingly. When they sold books that they no longer wanted to keep, people couldn't believe they were used.
