50/50 Friday - Favorite/Least Favorite Black Cover Design

50/50 Friday is a meme hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reads and Laura @ Blue Eye Books. This fun themed meme focuses on the opposite sides of books (best/worst, differing opinions, etc). Every week a new topic will give bloggers the chance to showcase their answers.

This week's theme is your Favorite/Least Favorite Black Cover Design.

My Favorite Black Cover Design is:
Courting Darkness by Robin LaFevers
(This novel will be published in February 2019)
I love the fun & beautiful detail for this novel's cover.

My Least Favorite Black Cover Design is
My Conversations With Black by Bill Puett, Ph.D.
The cover for this book is plain and boring looking.

What is your Favorite/Least Favorite Black Cover Design?

  1. The Courting Darkness cover is lovely! Your post led me once again to my bookshelves. I never realized how many black cover designs I have.

    1. I can't wait until Courting Darkness comes out next year!! I've already read the 'His Fair Assassin' series by Robin LaFevers and loved it!

  2. Courting Darkness is stunning and yeah I agree with My Conversations With Black, way to plain. I get what the artist was going for but come on, a little something more wouldn't have hurt anything!

    Thanks for linking up!

  3. I love the one on top; the other is way too dull for my taste.

  4. Yeeeees Courting Darkness! I absolutely love the cover too! It's just so swirly and detailed and dangerous looking and it makes the cover snob in me very happy :D Thanks for linking up, Lisa!
